Last weekend, I was able to do one of my favorite things as a stylist, style a photo shoot (seriously I love photo shoots!). The reason why styling photo shoots are one of my favs is because photos are long lasting and will always have to go back and look at; creating memories that will last forever. Especially this one in particular since it was an engagement photo shoot.
Two of my dearest friends are engaged and requested that I bring their vision to life for their engagement photos. It’s so nice when friends hire you to do business with them and not only support your craft but trust you work in one of the most special times of their lives. But on the flip-side of that, it makes it even more difficult because not only are you trying to please a client but also someone who is a dear friend. In this case, both of these ladies are dear friends of mine so I had even more pressure of making sure that I was able to satisfy both of their needs (talk about pressure). Not to mention they are both very different (unless you know them, you have no idea lol). All in all the shoot turned out amazing, and both were very happy with the final outcome, which was what I cared about most (I was able to breathe again after the shoot lol).
We were able to come up with looks collectively and shoot day was absolutely amazing. I was so excited for them both because this was their first time doing any type of photo shoot and they killed it!
The photographer and makeup artist they chose to work with were amazing!
Photographer Casey Hendrickson, was a sweetheart and amazing at what she does. She is able to see angles in such a beautiful way while still bringing any ideas we had to life. She directed and took direction like a champ and with no complaints. I absolutely love working with a photography that knows how to get the shot and doesn’t have to wait on direction from someone else. Although I was there to assist, this being Alicia and Tameka’s first shoot, this was an added bonus .
MUA Amber Lynne, was a doll and her makeup artistry skills are effortless. She succeeded in giving Alicia the natural “beat” we could have only imagined. Alicia looked absolutely gorgeous!
Below are some pictures from the shoot with photographer Casey.
I also shot a couple of behind the scenes and pics just to get a little bit of details of the outfits (I am no photog but I think I did ok considering, see below). I can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures, especially the ones with the props, but this is just a sneak peek of Alicia and Tameka’s engagement photos.
Thank you for choosing me and CONGRATULATIONS to you ladies again! This is truly #ARealLifeTerryTale!
