In a 90s Kinda World

Koché Fall 2019 – Tokyo Fashion Week

Koché is a luxury and street style designer brand founded in 2014 by Parisian, Christelle Kocher. The young brand debuted it’s first collection in 2015 and is known for focusing on ready-to-wear high fashion items.

The Koché Fall 2019 show began with upbeat music in a warehouse style setup with standing room only. “Tokyo” could be heard in the background as the models graced the runway, reminding where you were. The collection, in true Koché aesthetic, had a street-wear yet glamorous feel immediately. Color blocking and quilting combining cherry reds, canary yellows, cobalt blues and charcoal black were the main colors among the first round of looks. Flowy pleated skirts, embellished jumpsuits, sequined blouses and jackets, and denim were paired with feather-oversized hats, colored hair, strappy buckle shoes and adorned accessories.

The collection definitely gave off a 90s hip-hop and sporty feel with the printed “Koché” highlighted on some of the garments, bucket hats and sneakers. While also bringing attention to the inspiration of world culture by highlighting names of countries like “Tokyo”, “Italia” and “Brasil”. The collection also featured a collaboration with Nike and Pokémon with Nike logo crop tops and shirts and Pikachu faced apparel and accessories and shopping rewards company, Rakuten Rewards (formerly Ebates).

Closing the collection with more luxurious looks featuring, burnout midnight blue dresses, mixed media and quilted colored sequins skirts, track suits, open lace suits, bias cut dresses, tiered garments, trench coats and cigarette style pants with a side buckle detail.

So whether reminiscing or channeling your inner TLC or Aaliyah or just looking to explore new cultures in the form of fashion, Koché Fall 2019 collection is exactly where it’s at.
