Oops! He Did it Again!

Balmain Fall 2019 – Paris Fashion Week

Balmain Fall/Winter 2019 collection was like an alter ego runway with looks from one extreme to the next, from the good girl turned bad to an angel in disguise. Which may speak to the mainly black and white pieces in the collection features small pops of pastel spring colors to complement. The garments were adorned with spikes, studs, metal accents and flower embellishment- showing bits of edge and femininity throughout. The types of pieces like the opening oversize studded coat, or the tailored studded blazer and mesh pantsuit commanded immediate attention.

Creative Director, Olivier Rousteing knows exactly how to create a far from boring, head turner garment and in this case, entire collection. The looks were completed with metal detail pointed pumps, chain headbands, spike sandals and ankle booties. The collection even featured a new take on sequin and embellished jeans, overalls, mom and dad jeans and mix media pieces featuring denim.

PVC studded trench coats, liquid vinyl jumpsuits, structured studded blazers, capes, leather-studded skirts, and mesh tops and pants are just a few of the types of garments that walked the runway. The femme edge inspiration was definitely apparent and the collection is definitely not for the faint at heart. Any woman (or man) wearing any of these pieces is never afraid of the spotlight and an automatic trendsetter and showstopper, no doubt. Needless to say, Olivier Rousteing has done it again.
